divriticuitis and augmentin

does taking augmentin irritate the symptoms of diverticulitis ? I was prescribed augmentin for sinus infection but now have the symptoms of diverticulitis coming on. I seem to remember something like this happening once before, but i can't remember if Augmentin was involved
