doc says i have to have surgery what should i expect???gallbladder removal

hi all so i finally go to see the surgeon and he agreed with my doc my gall bladder needs to come out. i have to wait for insurance to approve and it will be at the end of next month. i had an ultrasound and a hida scan. there was no stones and my hida scan results was 25.4%. he said i had a  type of gall bladder disease that only about 10% of people that have gall bladder issues has cause i dont have gall stones.
what i am wondering is what should i expect with the surgery recovery and pain and the diet after? any and all help and advice is greatly welcomed.
