ease my mind, or scare me to seek help quickly

First let me assure you i'm not a troll, and am not making anything up.  So here's the scenario...

I'm 28 years old...about a month ago, I was constipated, and then really scared when I found blood in my stool.  It was a bit painful, and the blood was bright red.  I researched a bit online, and was pretty sure I had either a fissure or hemmorhoids.  It continued for about a week, the pain getting a bit worse, so i saw a doctor.  Without looking down there, he prescribed proctofoam(a foam you squirt up your butt).  I used it regularly, and it seemed to help a bit, but the blood and pain continued.  The amount of blood varied, though.  Sometimes there was little or no blood, and then suddenly there were massive amounts of blood.  About five days ago it was dripping out after I stood up and made a big mess of the bathroom. ::eek::

I got a refill of the proctofoam, and recently I've had trouble using the medicine.  It just squirted right back out.  I thought maybe i missed the hole, but now it's happened a couple times and i'm sure i had it pretty far in my anus.  I've gotten really constipated, even though i'm taking fiber.  Today, i just pooped, and it was really hard to come out.  It felt like something was blocking it's exit.  When i finished, i examined the stools and got really scared.

Not too much blood this time, but a white, stringy, mucas looking thing attached to a couple of the stool balls.  ::double-eek::  I still feel kind of constipated, but it was so hard to eject the feces that i've given up for now. My doctor referred me to a GI doctor last friday, but i haven't been able to get off work.  Hopefully i can go this friday.  Any ideas what could be wrong???

ps. i'm disgusted to admit this, but i had unprotected sex with 3 people in one day about 1 1/2 months ago....and am scared that this could be related.

You are doing the right thing to go to a specialist. I can't believe your doctor didn't give you a physical exam. Unpleasant, but necessary!! I don't think the sex has anything to do with it. You may have polyps or a tumor blocking your alimentary canal. That would tie in with being naseaus. If you can't poop, you're stomach is going to be upset. Good luck, please post results of exam.

Thanks for the feedback.   Hopefully tomorrow or Friday I will see GI doctor.  I'm afraid that the results could be some kind of intestinal parasite?  I posted the stuff about the sex because I read that people with HIV often get intestinal parasites, and it can be transmitted through oral sex.  I was tested for HIV a couple years ago (negative), and hadn't been in any risky situations until that 1 day of lapsed judgement a couple months ago.  And now I'm scared that if i in fact did catch some kind of parasite from an HIV infected person, that might not have been all I caught.  :(

I'll keep ya posted, and stay scared for now.....

Ok.  SO now i'm scared real bad.  Got a colonoscopy scheduled for the 5th of September, but i think now that i may have worms.  I took a picture (not for the easily grossed out).  Check out this link http://img178.imageshack.us/img178/743/pic00001tv6.jpg and someone please let me know if they think this is worms.

The link does work and what you see is probably mucous.  Mucous can sometimes look like worms.  But either way you will find out more with the colonoscopy.  And even if it is worms, that is not the worse thing that can happen to you.  That is something that is curable.
