It can be both. If the AST is elevated over the ALT in a 2:1 ratio that may be more suggestive of alcoholic liver disease.
You can either discontinue the Crestor or the alcohol and see how the liver function tests respond.
Another consideration would be to obtain an abdominal ultrasound for further evaluation.
