elevated liver enzymes

by Sandy769, Apr 23, 2009 01:27PM
I am a 63 year old healthy female.  I just had a routine physical exam and the results of my blood work show slightly elevated liver enzymes.  My AST is 43 and my ALT is 57.  The doctor says he is not concerned right now, but will do more blood tests in the future for further evaluation.  All other labs are normal.  Are these levels cause for concern?

these are very mild elevations which i would not be overly concerned about.  they should be followed up expectantly.  Don't worry

Hi, I am 70 years old and did my blood work and  everything came good beside,GOT (AST) 48 ,GPT (ALT) 56,
my ALK.phosphatase 81
I take everynight simvacor for lower my cholesterol for the last 10 month, before that my GOT AND GPT came normal, do you think I should be worried or what should I do next, my dr. order for me additional blood test and altrasound, let me know what do you think I should do or if I need to ask my dr. for additional test, or it can be because I take the simvacor.

Thanks
Aliza.
