elongated colon

I have had a weight problem since I was a young child (11.4 #s at birth).  My last two colonoscopies have had to be followed up with a barium enema for my doctor to see the entire colon.
Given the length of my colon and the amount of time it takes for my body to eliminate waste, could this be a contributing cause to my my weight retention and difficulty losing it?

One of the main functions of the colon is to resorb water. It has little to nothing to do with absorbing nutrients or in other functions that might be related to weight. You may want to look elsewhere for the cause of an inability to lose weight.
