end stage of liver disease

My mother has been an addict all my life and the past couple of years has become an alcoholic. In October 09 I was told she had cirrhosis of the liver and must stop drinking. She continued to drink and has been hospitalized 3 more times since October. She suffers from ascites, hepatic encepalopathy, coagulopathy, aids and cirrhosis. I was just told she has end stage liver disease. I put her in a thirty day drug program. Her amonia (ammonia) levels now are normal. I live in another state and have to do the best I can for her. Some days I feel like I get no where with her doctors and they give me little information. I'm 22 years old and am now her power of attorney. I feel like they try to spare my feelings by not giving me all the details. I would like to know if its to late for her to recover?
