epigastric pain and nausea

Hello,
My 46 yr old husband has been having epigastric pain and nausea for a few months. He takes Nexium but he still wakes up with nausea almost every morning. His PCP did an abdominal u/s that was negative, gallbladder was normal. When he gets a particularly severe episode of pain, it is followed by extreme drowsiness and he falls asleep for about an hour. I am wondering if there could be a pancreas problem, possibly causing a spike of insulin and then low blood sugar, and that is why he gets drowsy? He saw a gastroenterologist and had an EGD that was reportedly normal. He also had blood work that was negative for celiac disease. We are frustrated with the lack of a diagnosis and need to know what type of specialist to see next. Any suggestions are appreciated.

I'm not sure what blood test was done. Thanks for the information, we'll ask the doc.

If the blood test for celiac was ONLY transglutaminase, it wasn't a complete test. He may need other tests for celiac to really find out if he's celiac.
