explain p.e.t. scan

i have seen doctors and taken different medications for esophagial reflux and have had no relief. i sleep with the head of my bed elevated six inches from the floor. i have heard of a p.e.t. scan that may tell me more about my condition. please explain it.

I am unaware of PET scanners to assess Barrett's esophagus or esophageal reflux.
