extrinsic compression of my esophagus

extrinsic compression of my esophagus

I recently underwent an EDG .  I have a history of needing stretching.  After the doc took a look he said I did'nt need stretching.....that my aorta was pressing in on my esophagus.  Is this something I need to worry about?

It's possible it's something called a 'double aortic arch,' but I would have thought they'd have detected it before this when you had other EDG's. Sometimes it's a problem in some people, but in most it's not of concern. Talk to your doc to get his opinion on whether or not it will be an issue in the future.
