failed ercp twice secondary cbd stricture and ulceration

i had my gallbladder removed august 2009 secondary to gallstones, polyp and sludge.  prior to the laparoscopic cholecystectomy, i was booked for ercp for decompression which was successful.  things were okay since.

last december i went to the er because of persistent fever, chills and rigors and later on dark urine and jaundice.  tests were done.  common bile duct was dilated.  later on i was diagnosed with cholangitis.  they started me on flagyl and cipro iv as the wbc was 19,000 to which i responded well.

blood culture was neg, hiv neg, hepatitis negative but with history of hep a during childhood.  abominal ct showed dilated cbd; ergo i was booked for ercp.  ercp failed secondary to severe stricture and ulceration around the area where stent placement was considered.  ercp being a failure, ptca was done and up till now i continue to have a drainage bag.

three weeks after ptca another round of ercp was done - again a failure as the tissue was friable and the ulceration has worsened.  the doctors are condsidering anastomosis having failed two ercp's and with scarring and ulceration around the area of the cbd and duodenum.

how good or bad is my prognosis?  what are the options?
