feels like food sticking in throat

I have had problems w/ reflux in the past and for the last few weeks I've had acid indigestion, reflux, and sometimes certain things I eat feel like they stick in my throat nand I have to drink something and they go down..I also use a powdered inhaler for asthma so I wasn't sure if that could be causing the swallowing thing..does anyone have any suggestions?

Hi, I too have the food sticking in throat feeling. I had a barium swallow done & it showed a perforation in my esophagus. Not sure if food truly is getting trapped there, but feels like a really bad sore throat which slowly (4-5 days) moves down to right under my adams apple. Feels like when I swallow it comes back up to that area. I'm going in for an endoscopy in a few weeks, maybe that will show something else. Wish I could help you, but that is all I know right now. If you find out anything, could you post a comment to me? Thanx

I had an endoscopy months ago which said my throat looked fine, Yet I would wake up with a hoarse voice, lump in throat , always clearing it and drinking water and it felt raw.
Last week I had the sensation of something stuck and asked to have them look ? Another cause is stress can cause our muscles in the throat to constrict which gives the lump in the throat feeling . Dr. Nancy Snyderman addressed this last month. At least if you under pressure at work and it did not occur with a meal we can say our nervous system can be a contributor. Just a thought. Here is to deep breathing.
Hope your test goes well.............
