feveris 2 year old 5 weeks post appendectomy

My 2 year old granddaughter had an emergency appendectomy by incision due to a perforated appendix. She has had diarrhea for the last few days and is now feverish. The diarrhea caused a severe rash within minutes before removing the diaper. Should this be a concern
