flat stool

i have had very flat stools for about a week with the feeling of incomplete emptying after a bowel movement. last week my stools were normal size. there is no stomach pain or anything like that. what are some causes of flat stools? if it were some sort of bowel obstruction wouldnt large stools not have been able to pass so recently? im 21 yrs btw.

I get those on occasion. Flat stools generally mean that your colon is swollen for some reason. I would let it go for a few days and see if it returns to normal. If not, then contact your doctor.

You may also want to consider taking a fiber supplement.
