Is colon cancer the only cause of flattened stool ?? Can Haemorrhoids cause flattened stool ?? Also how flat or small is stool should be regarded as abnormal ??

Everyones stool has a slightly different "caliber" shall we say.
Colon cancer is typically associated with a "Change" in bowel habits or the presence of blood in the stool. A colonoscopy is the "gold standard" procedure to rule out colon cancer/polyps/hemorrhoids. I have never heard of hemorrhoids causing a change in the size of stools. There are other conditions such as ulcerative colitis which can be associated with changes in the size/consistency of bowel movements. Again, these could be diagnosed through a colonoscopy.
