As a by-product of the 'digestion' of the bacteria in your GI system, they give off gasses. It's possible that the flora in your GI tract may have been skewed by diet or medications. You may want to consider trying some probiotics to see if you can change the population in your GI tract.

Mine smells awful and is rather excessive to say the least. My doctor seems to think it's due to stress and without any other symptoms hasn't been able to offer me a solution. I have tried changing my diet and have taken nearly all of the over the counter medication that is on offer over the years but nothing seems to have really helped. I have found some flatulence filtering underwear which at least take away the smell issue until I find a solution  (if there is one). There's a few on the market but I went for some called Shreddies that seem to do the job! Good luck!

mine smell foul and sometimes i dont even feel myself passing wind untill i smell it. i think i hav ibs but its got to be something else. i must swallow alot of air b cuz i was ill a while back and i did not eat for 2 days & and i was still passing wind?
