gall duct problems, jaunisse

by JanFra64, Jun 11, 2007 12:00AM
Sir,Madame,

In dec 2006 my 76 years old father suffered from instant jaunisse. Since, he has grasshopped in and out the hospital. It seems difficult to find a cause. My father has had a stent four times which hold only for a couple of weeks and then disappear. Last week, he suddenly started to get fever, shaked his body without control and didn't feel hungry, so he understood that his stent again diasappeared. Today he also felt a slight annoying pain in his lower stomac. Until now, doctors have examined him with contrastliquid, have done a biopsis but still haven't discoverd any trace of cancercells. Also, my father hasn't lost serious weight, only 3 or 4 kilos over a 6 months period. However, the doctors notice a slight enlargening of the pancreas, which also seems to have two tiny buds (cystes), which they yet dont hold responsable for the gall drainage problems. Whenever he has the stent, he feels good, looks good and has a good appetite.

Besides all this, my father takes medication (to make his blood thin) en has taken for over 4 years pravastatine (but has stopped that since january on advice of his general practitioner). Every time he gets a stent, his blood of course is made thick.

Have you ever experienced a similar case or could you suggest any medical areas to pull or attentio to?
