hi! i have been in and out of the hospital the last 2 months with bad abdominal pain, nausea, and bad stomach problems. i am on my second GI speacialist who has said i have a very bad gallbladder and will most likely need to have it removed. it was not a problem until i started researching it and reading the many problems people have had after having their gallbladder removed. IM SCARED! if you could please inform me of the possible consequences of having my gallbladder removed that would be greatly appreciated.thanks
I had my gallbladder removed two years ago and I have had a whole new set of medical problems because of it. If I had it to do over, I would not have had my gallbladder removed. As soon as I awoke from the surgery, I had (and still have) this chest/sternum area pain-pressure which I did not have prior to the surgery. So far, I seem to be the only person in this world who this has ever happened to and no one can seem to figure out what causes the pain and what is wrong with me. My advise would be to make absolutely sure your gallbladder has to be removed. I would highly recommend a second opinion from a GI doctor. Good luck to you!
