Hi there:

I'm so sorry you are suffering.  What were your symptoms before you had the surgery and what are your symptoms now?  I'm not a doctor and know nothing about medicine but I think IBS can sometimes be a catchall term that is used by the medical community when symptoms are unexplained (idiopathic).  Can you please provide more information?

All the best,

Sam
