gallbladder sludge-what to do

by maxey1990, Jun 02, 2009 07:13PM
I had a gastric bypass in 2005.  I was just told I have gallbladder sludge after experiencing a sensitive area on my left.  I had taken several meds for a severe sinus infection and thought I had irritated my pouch.  I was having acid reflux and discomfort in my surgical site as well as dropping 12 lbs in about 3 weeks, with extreme fatigue.  Blood tests we all within normal limits.  My Internist ordered an ultrasound because of tenderness.  He now wants a more detailed ultrasound to determine if the sludge is hiding stones.  I know that a high percentage of GB's have to have their gallbladders removed.  Is this where I am headed?  I sailed through the surgery and up until now have not had any problems at all.
