gallstone pain linked to pelvic pain ?? Questions!

Hi,I'm just wondering with anyone else's experience with gallstone pain if pain radiated to groin/pelvic area? (referred pain?)is it possible to have CONSTANT pain with gallstones? I'm having non stop 24/7, pain/fever/chills/nausea, so far no vomiting, eating makes it worse, even bland low fat food. Also having severe chest/back/flank pain on BOTH sides.
I do have a 1.9cm complex cyst in right ovary but doubt since it is so small it is causing all the pelvic pain distress.Pain seems to be coming from scar from appendix surgery then to pelvic. Is this normal,I hope it isnt something else..
Also does gallbladder disease cause bowel problems/excess gas ,and bloating? mostly prone to constipation, unable to pass gas,and constant stomach/intestine "rumbling".It is driving me crazy.Any input appreciated,ty,

I have the exact symptoms as you. had them on regular bases for 4 years soon after my cesarian section delivery of my daughter. none of the doctors are able to pinpoint what the problem is and i am living in misery. I would love to hear from you, to know if you had the surgery for gallstones and if that was the problem? i am waiting to see a surgeon for that also i am on a waiting list to have a laparoscopy to see if adhesions are the cause of my symptoms.

Nora,I like patient to patient forums best. They offer great support! I would rather go to my dr than to pay for expert advice on here unless I'm seeking second opinion.

Hi hope! ty for your mother's story,it is comforting.I went to dr yesterday,I meet with surgeon in 3 weeks to have operation.I'm not happy about the wait,so I'm trying to tough it out and keep patient.Having reallyyyyy rough day today..time to go back to bed! hope your feeling ok! keep in touch,

It depends on whats going on with me.  Patient to patient is helpful because they tend to be more caring and more helpful.

Ask the experts now cost money on almost all boards, and why would I give someone money if they cannot exam me, I'll take that money and go see a DR in PERSON.

If the experts were doing it because they care about people they wouldn't want donations/or charge.

I think that is why we all end up on the patient to patient boards.

Hope this helps

I am doing some research on the concept of patient-to-patient support and was hoping you could assist me...
Do you prefer patient-to-patient forums over expert-to-patient forums? Do you find the info provided by patients more reliable? (Otherwise why not just ask the expert...)
(Thanks for your cooperation!)

Hey :)

I talked to my mom last night about her gallbladder, she said she was in severe pain ubber ab and around her back.  She said everytime she went to the Drs about it they would give her pills but never told her what they were for.  She said the pain would "eventually" go away and always come back.

This started after the birth of my brother.....she had this pain for 6yrs!!!!!  After she gave birth to me they found out she had gallstones.

Her pain sounds like yours....but omg to have to suffer 6yrs before they find out is absolutely insane.

Also I dont ever think Ive ever heard of anyones gallbladder rupturing.  She was shocked to hear that many people suffered after having theirs out, she felt wonderful!!!!!!

Just wanted to get her story for you :)

Thank goodness you have vicodin!!!  I use to get that when they would pull my teeth I love that stuff...lol, when they pulled all but 4 of my teeth though it didn't help to much!  I was awake for that, just regular novacain, wasn't a big deal like I thought it would be.

A girl on my anxiety board had hers taken out a couple months ago, and she's still having problems....for some reason everyone that gets it out still has the symptoms.  Maybe its like phantom pain, you get this when your teeth are pulled out, I feel like I have a bad toothache on my top, and I go OMG you don't have any teeth.  Dentists know about phantom pain, this maybe the same thing.

The nausea I can have one day and not the other....I've been nauseated most of my life, when Im anxious it gets worse.  I'm not a big eater, I maybe eat once a day at dinner, just because I only eat when Im hungry.

My pain is not constant, just an annoyance....I can hop around and the discomfort doesn't hinder me at all except in my mind!!!!  If its not near my groin, or hip it goes up to my upper stomach and across....so I have no idea!!!!!

Back to you, I do know my mom and ZERO problems after having her gallbladder out.  So you too can have the same outcome :)

Hello! the er  dr gave me week supply of vicodin.Seem to take the edge off but dont do much for the pain.I'm so scared about another surgery! I know it will end the pain but I been listening to other ppl's story who still have problems after..my anxiety level is max! lol
It is possbile for you it could be gallbladder especially if you have family history, and the fact it comes and goes. The frustrating thing is it could be so many things,IBS..list goes on,so many things mimic eachother! with my gallbladder pain it radiates all over,so I cant pinpoint where the pain is coming from. The nausea is bad,but you can have nausea for numerous reasons, just from being in pain itself.
With my appendicitis the pain never went away,so its unlikely that is what your having. It is usually ongoing and gets worse.

Hi! Jaybay I'm really hoping it isnt adhesions, from what I read, and hear from other ppl experiences,it is dreadful and painful! I'm not vomiting feces(ecck),able to move bowels most days (not able to eat alot) but just cannot pass gas, somedays I feel like there is partial blockage. Is there anything that can be done for adhesions?
Hope I have hard time sleeping at night, back pain makes laying down unbearable,I just been so grumpy! It is just miserable, but hoping it is over soon! Have you found out anything yet as to what is going on?
Thank you both for your replies and support.God Bless,
          Stephanie

Yeah my mom said it was awful, but when she went in to have it removed she was soooo happy the pain would be gone soon.

My aunt suggested I look into that too, that it "could" be my problem, my mom had gallstones and my moms dad had gallbladder cancer.  He unfortunately died because they didn't know, they were treating him for heart problems instead of the cancer!!!!  But that was like in the 50's hopefully science has advanced since then!

Has your Dr given you any type of pain pills, like vicodin or something to help til you get this taken care of?

Hope

Classic gallbladder pain is in the upper right quadrant and usually gets referred to the right shoulder and even shoulder blade area.  Since you already have had appendix surgery (and particularly if it ruptured prior to surgery) you may have developed bowel adhesions - scar tissue.  Bowel adhesions can cause the symptoms you are experiencing, and they don't show up on tests - any tests, unless your intestines are 100% obstructed and you are throwing up feces.
