gastrointestinal motility disorder
I am writing for a male, age 57, who has had gastrointestinal motility disorders for almost 15 years.  He believes it's his colon only.  Eating causes pain.  He only eats chicken, peanut butter, English muffins, milk, plain butter cake, etc.  No vegetables, no fruits.  The listed foods cause pain, but not as much if he were to eat other foods.  He is blind and I shop for him, therefore, he does not get out much.
He is dealing with it, but, does anyone know if there are any new meds out there?  Or, any newer ideas?  Is there actually a test they can do to test the muscles/nerves?  He says it's very hard to diagnose this.
Thank you.
