Have you had stool tests done? If not, you may want to ask about having them done to check for any deleterious bacteria, or? Are you also following a gastroparesis diet?

I recovered from viral gastroparesis.  Took about 3 1/2 years to totally recover.  Was on domperidone about 2 1/2 years.  I also took remeron 7.5 mg in the beginning.  Remeron stimulates the appetite greatly.  It also gives a great night's sleep.  Give it a couple weeks on remeron to adjust to sedating effect.  Also domperidone takes almost 2 weeks to notice full effect.  I took 12 pills a day at the most on domperidone, started at 8 pills of domperidone -10 mg a day.  I am off both meds now & didn't have problems coming off either.
I would suggest you find the best GI motility specialist in your area.  Perhaps find an online gastroparesis support group - it helps to talk to people who understand - and be up on latest treatments, etc.  If you have any questions, feel free to ask.  My GI specialist said its a matter of finding the right cocktail of drugs to help with symptoms.
Best wishes,  davejan

Hi I deal with GP daily. The bad odor is from the food first sitting in your tummy and rotting and then a slow bowel system. i bring matches with me when I go out since sulfur is the only thing i know that kills the smell. I have tried everything the doctor gave me and was allergic so one of the ladies on my website said to try the NUX Vomica which I got and my tummy is better then ever before. It is a nathopath med and you can get it on the web real cheap. I have a feel rite store and will get more there today. Also for any sufferers with GP I go to the yahoo page and put International Gastroparesis support in search and we have a great web support group and we can answer a lot of your questions. I wonder does anyone live near Lockport NY I want to start a support group but have no one at all yet. Have a good day
