I was recently diagnosed with gastroparesisGastroparesis after the stomach emptying test. I am currently having symptoms. The wiered thing is that I had the same symptoms in January 2008. I had lost weight and had nausea and fequent burping. In two months I got better without any medications. I was only on prevacidPrevacid Prevacid i.v. Prevacid naprapac 375 Prevacid naprapac 500 Prevacid solutabtwiceTwice-a-day a day. The next 7 months went well and I was eating everything and then out of nowhere my symptoms were back again. I have again lost 10 pounds, have nausea all the time and have frequent burping and bloating. This time I had the gastroparesisGastroparesis test done and it showed I had only empties 25% of the eggs in 2 hours. I just wonder how I had the same symptoms and got better on my own last year. Can gastroparesisGastroparesis come and go?
Unfortunately, gastroparesisGastroparesis isn't well understood. However, with some people it can indeed "come and go". In fact, in most people there are times when things are better and times when it "acts up", and cycles will sometimes last for a few months at a time.
Have they yet mentioned a reason for the condition or have they classified is as "idiopathic"?
