gastroscopy results

im a fit 35year old that doesnt smoke, drink and is not over weight. I have had heartburn problems ever since a teenager, i have had a positive result on heli bac bug a year and a half ago which was treated. I have just had a endoscope done and these are the doctors findings, Grade a oesophagitis( muscosal breaks confined to the mucosal fold each no longer than 5mm) Duodenitis, mild.  iv been asked to go back in to have ph testing done and manometry in view of reflux symptoms and irregularity of squamo-columar epithelium and to discuss surgey. Is this an anything to worry about or is it normal for someone with reflux to have a iregularity and should i consider surgery. Please help as im confused and dont want to rush into more tests and surgery.
