I get that, but the endoscopy didn't reveal hiatal hernia or the GI would've told me.  I do have gastritis, which he found during the endoscopy.  See your GI.  There are other PPI's available that aren't available OTC.  Getting the GERD under control will certainly help with the shortness of breath.  

There are dietary changes that are needed for people with GERD and/or hiatal hernias.  Besides the usual things that the GI's tell everyone with GERD, I discovered other foods that cause problems for me through an elimination diet.  Some things that cause my stomach to burn are not on the list of forbidden foods given to everyone with GERD.

That sounds like hiatal hernia. Look it up.
