getting Hepatitus(hepatitis) C, But how??

by Ashley__0__0, Oct 19, 1998 12:00AM

I was wondering if one can contract the hepatitus (hepatitis) c disease through the method of air-gun innoculations.  I was at a location where a lot of people needed to be vaccinated and this method was used to consume the time. I know that one can contract it through the use of dirty needles But my question is IS it Possible to contract it through the air gun? If anyone who reads this thinks that they might have been infected this way then I would like to receive e mail from you.

Dear Ashley,
Hepatitis C is mainly transmitted via percutaneous blood exposure and sometimes sexually (especially with multiple sexual partners or sex with prostitutes). Examples of percutaneous blood exposure include: blood transfusions, tattoos, intravenous drug abuse, intranasal cocaine use, dialysis, sharing razor blades, toothbrushes, needlestick injury. If vaccination via the air gun allows for blood exposure then I guess it would fall under the above category. However, if there is no exchange of blood it would not be a likely reason to explain the subsequent development of hepatitis C viral infection.
