help with,gastratis,duodenitis,portal gastropathy,liver
hi
i went for a gastroscopy and the specialist told me he can see what looks like portal gastropathy
he had taken some biopsies, but believes it is portal gastropathy.
i had been seen by a liver specialist a while back who only did lft tests as i have raised ALT
has been raised for over 7 years without fatty liver.
i had been tested for hep a,b,c and autoimmune blood tests was neg
any ideas of what i need to do from here and get tested? is there any other cause of portal gastropathy?or other conditions that can mimic portal gastropathy, along with this it was also confirmed i have gastritis and duodenitis and erosion.I have had a gastroscopy 2 years ago and it was fine, had non of this, the other thing is i was tested for h.pylori, and i was positive for this, can h.pylori cause all this? mimic portal gastropathy?
just need some advice on what to do next, feel very anxious and even getting depressed about this, as it may be my liver after all.
If you are speaking of portal hypertension, there are a number of causes, but a typical one is an alcohol issue. You may want to read through the following - go to the section on causes: http://emedicine.medscape.com/article/182098-overview
H. pylori cannot to my knowledge cause this problem, nor can it mimic it. It can cause gastritis, however.
I do think the same as, it may causes the problem like gastritis, but this can be a problem due to consuming alcohol and eating allot spicy food and it is not good for the stomach too as it causes a lot problem related to stomach infections.
how can alcohol cause portal gastrophy? how can it be fixed?
i have been told it normally only occurs in end stage liver problems wel liver issue related
my stomach and doudenum were inflamed and was advised it looks like portal gastropathy
but biopsies were also taken, just waiting to be seen again, i did drink alcohol been over a year now that i haven't had alcohol, so if it was the alcohol it would have been ok by now, so it maybe my liver only causing this?
the other thing is i had a hida scan
where dye is injected in your vien and it travels through the portal vein to the lover ( i think) then it goes to the galbladder and so on, if there was portal hypertention, would this affect this procedure at all?
