My son was diagnoised with heptitiatis c/cirrhosis last month. Like many, he has no health insurance, but was treated at UCLA Habor. Now the real problem begins. With the medicine given to him, a change in diet, the swellingAbdomen - swollen Ankle sprain swelling Breast - premenstrual tenderness and swelling Foot swelling Foot, leg, and ankle swelling Gums - swollen Joint swelling Mastoiditis - redness and swelling behind ear Scrotal swelling Swelling has gone down, but he really has not been given any information on how to proceed and cannot get an appointment with the doctor who treated him. Next as a result of severe constipation he has serious hemroid, and the pushing has resulted in what I think is a very serious hernia (extreme pain, greatly distended at hernia site and his movements are severely limited by pain) He has been to Harbor on three occassions but can not get anyone to up date his condition or tell him what to do about his hernia. He can't work, the hospital after over month has not submitted his disability forms, and he doesn't know what to do next. His mentalMental retardation Mental status tests state is very depressed.
I am very concerned about the hernia ruptureing. My son lives alone, I have medical problems at the present time and live 3 hours away. If we could find anyone to operate on his hernia at some price for uninsured, I would find the money, however with the cirrhossi I think he must see the Gastroentonolgist that original treated him.
ANY help or suggestions would be so gratefully appreciated.
