Certainly the alcohol can raise the GGT levels. It would be a good idea to abstain and recheck the enzymes a few weeks later.
It may be possible for some blood
pressurePressure ulcer medications to raise the enzymes, but the alcohol is the more likely possibility - since he usually drinks a 6 pack per night.
I would consider checking for viral hepatitis (to be safe - this can also increase the liver enzymes), as well as perform a liver ultrasound.
