how dangers is lazor surgury on gallblatter?

I WAS TOLD I NEEDED GALLBLATTER SURGURY.THEY WANT TO REMOVE IT WITH LAZOR.BUT MY FRIEND HAD GALLBLATTER SURGURY WITH LAZOR AND SHE DIED. THEY SAID SHE HAD LEAKAGE IN HER STOMACH AND WENT IN THE NEXT DAY AND OPEN HER UP,SHE THEN WENT INTO SHOCK AND DIED THREE DAYS LATER.HOW SAVE IS THIS SURGURY?SHOULD I BE OPEN UP?
