how do chest pain and indegestion go together

my doctor said my chest pain is caused by gerd.how does the stomache cause pain in the chest

Hi Warren.  I think that if your chest pain is being caused by gerd you are refluxing acid into your esophagas.  This can be very painful.  Infact a friend of mine thought she was having a heart attack and went to the hospital for a severe episode of gerd.  She is only 24.  Of course, she did the right thing by having her heart checked out.  If you have chest pain obtain a complete evaluation from a qualified doctor.  Also, I think I read that indigestion can cause extra gas in the stomach itself which can then put additional pressure on the chest muscles.
