i have IBS and Firbromyalgia, am taking allign and Digestive advantage, both bactria, why am i still having dirreaha?

i noticed these good bactria has helped with bloat and gas about 80 percent. but i am still going between constipation and diarehha... thought it was sudposed to help with those things... i am coming off methadone down to 3 mgs. and have noticed this is when it started again... i used to have ibs problems since i was a small child. when fibro kicked in and i was on meds, it seem to have stopped, occaional gas, which i took gas ex and was fine. now here we go again.. is this because i am coming off the opiate? if i take immodium then i do not go for days and i wind up with stomach ache... what should i do, i have no appite and am losing weight, which i am a tall thin girl to begin with.. help...

Hi...I have had IBS since being a kid as well, and meds will affect it...until u get off the meds completely u may continue to flop back and forth....

I had mine under control and went in for surgery and the drugs started it all over again....stick with it...both will be to ur benefit, but also let ur dr know what is going on.

Good Luck

opiate withdrawal can cause diarrhoea. i have IBS too and i wasnt aware there was anything to treat it really. it will come and go and if youve been more stressed etc it can get worse. drugs can make it worse so personally i woudnt take any i didnt have to. try peppermint tea and peppermint tablets, and try and find some relaxation time. if you are losing weight you should go discuss it with your doc as you might have some sort of bacterial overgrowth/infection. if you are losing weight because you have no appetitie then you basically have to make yourself eat even if you dont feel like it. thats what i have to do. eat little and often.
