Last october while i was serving in Iraq i became very ill and was rushed to a combat support hospital. I had a blockage in my small intestine. the doctor said the small intestine was pushing itself inside the large intestine and there was significant ulcerations of the intestine as well as intestinal swelling. he preformed emergency surgery in iraq and was later sent state side. long story short its about 5 months later. I  still have constant diarrhea that is sometimes yellow and sometimes black there is oil in the stool as well. i have mucus in my stool everytime. i also still have pain from where the intestine was cut and placed back together.  Right after I eat you can hear my stomach growling  and usually will have to run to the bathroom 15 minutes after eating. i went to the ER a few weeks ago. they did a CT scan and said everything was fine there was no swelling or blockage. the blood work showed an elevation in a digestive enzyme in my intestine.  im 22 years old. ive always been healthy and in top shape. Any ideas whats wrong? this is such an embarrassing condition for a 22 year old to have.

Frequent yellow and black diarrhea is in no way normal.  Scans won't always show stuff wrong in your guts, and could be it's just not blocked yet.  A bowel that does what yours did, can do it again, and at the very least you've got bleeding going on and an infection, neither of which can be ignored.  I don't want you to suffer anymore, either.  You need a complete workup at the VA, or county health department, or an internal medicine doc of your choice very soon.

Most likely Celiac. You've had an immune response to what you were exposed to in Iraq/ or stress while on duty.

Eliminate ALL wheat/gluten!

On second thought, I believe you might benefit from a GI apt. not affiliated with military. You might have "emptying problem" wherein timing is off in stomach to duodenum transfer. Hence, increase digestive enzymes being "dumped" in bloodstream. You will be okay, just report any weight loss and request albumin/ other nutrient levels/ calcium etc....with NEW doctor!
