I've been constipated for like a week now and i should feel uncomfortable but i'm not. I have a pretty decent appetite..i probably eat more than i should..i feel like i should be in a lot of pain. I even went as far as to take laxatives
. 5'6. 120 lbs. Never really had any severe medical problems. People keep telling me that i look like i'm losing weight..idk we don't have a scale. Is this normal? Ever happen to anyone else here?
to break up the waste so it will come out, usually takes a few treatments. BUT if you know the waste is right there but just won't move, then I always tell people to go to the drugstore and buy a little box of "Baby Lax." It has ointment tubes in there, and you squirt two in your bottom, and it'll cause your abdominal muscles to contract very hard for a bowel movement, plus the ointment itself, all work to ease it out in minutes. You may have to repeat.
The reason people get constipated usually has to do with three things: Not drinking enough water, not exercising regularly, and not eating enough fiber foods like whole grains and fresh vegies. You should drink about five glasses of water every day, drink it after you brush your teeth
as a habit, is one way to get enough water. Every day you should eat something like oat cereal with maybe blueberries or strawberries on top, and pour Acidophilus milk
in it. Or you can eat whole wheat bread sandwiches with lettuce and tomato on it every day. Salads are really great, too, easy to add to your daily diet. And even simple stretching exercises will keep the tummy muscles strong enough to do the job.
Sometimes when people take medicines, like antibiotics or drugs that have the side effect of drying you out, this can make a person get constipated. You can eat something like Activia yogurt for a couple weeks that has enzymes in it to help break down waste that those side effects might cause, and add another glass or two of water when you take those types of medicines.
As for your loss in weight, you should probably also get a checkup at a clinic, to make sure you are well. But what is more likely is at your young age and being moderately tall, you're burning up calories really fast and also still growing a little, so you might be a little thin. As long as you're constipated, tho, even tho you have a fair
appetite, you won't want to eat as much as you probably normally would. Once the constipation is cleared up, within a week or so, you should notice an increase in appetite and feel great, and probably put on a few pounds and look a little more rounder than you may at the moment. But that's just my opinion. I was quite thin (and so were most of my classmates) until I got up into my 20s.
