increase in weight

I had my gall bladder removed about 6 weeks ago. the only two things that have become a problem is having frequent bowel activity.and the one that I don't know if it is caused or not. I have had an increase in weight.10 # to be exact. Is this normal? Bowels I know is gall bladder related but how about the weight?

I had my gall bladder removed May08 and have no problems except for the fact that I have put fat around the waist.I have not gained weight at all and am still 8 stone but feel uncomfortable with the roll of fat which annoys me as I have always been thin.
Hope you feel better soon.
