inflamed sigmoid colon

I just had a colonoscopy done yesterday, I never want to have another 1 done.
it turns out I have an inflamed sigmoid colon. I'm not exactly sure how this happens or what it causes.
I have tried looking the information up online.
I get multiple answers:
diverticulitious, diverticular disease, chrons diesase, colitis.
I'm just a little confused since there is so much information. I'm not sure if it's anything serious, it makes me a little nervous.
I'm wondering if anybody else has this & could help me out.
