intense sternum pain radiating into both sides of face

several years ago I woke up with an intense pain (labor intensity)that started in the upper middle of my chest, through my neck and into my jaws on both side.  This lasted for about 10 minutes and went away.  It was months before I had a similar attack, this time in the day.  They have gotten a little closer but still several months apart with some lasting 10 minutes, others up to 30 minutes.  But I now have a discomfort in my throat, sometimes trouble swallowing like the food is getting stuck and a mild variation of the intense pain mentioned before.  I mentioned it to my doctor and it was brushed off as heartburn.  I have been on Prilosec for over 10 years which keeps the heartburn under control.  I recently had several tests for upper right quadrant pain and burning, back pain, nausea vomiting and belching.  They say I have gallstones and removing it will take care of all my symptom.  The stones were discovered during a CT with dye to check my heart.  This was followed up by an abdominal ultrasound, upper GI series, endoscopy and a colonoscopy thrown in for good measure.  Endoscopy showed gastritis.  I am also low in Vitamin D and B12. I am not convinced the removal of the gallbladder will be a cure all.  I have read lots of horror stories of after affects such as SOD, pancreatis attacks and such.  Anyone out there have this intense chest, throat and jaw pain?

I have similar symptoms. The pain starts in my sternum then radiates to my neck and then on my jaw. It's in my jaw that settles so if I am doing something, I actually have to stop it. It last 10 to 15 min. It happened twice so I went to the ER. ECG was done, bloodwork for any signs of heart attack was taken but it was all negative so I was sent home. That night though I had fever so went to the ER where I work as. Nurse. Ultrasound was done and found out I have. Gallstone. Stayed in the hospital for antibiotic treatment. Then I did Colonoscopy, a polyp was seen snd was removed. I did gastroscopy and found out I have H pylori and gastric erosions caused by H pylori and all the anti inflammatory I have been taking. H pylori got treated, i did cholecystectomy where gallbladder was done, I was low in Vit. d so I had bolus of Vit.D 50,000 units now I have higher level and I am on Iron pills because I have anemia iron deficiency. So...I thought I will be fine. Last week, I had 2 episodes of the same symptoms, sternum pain to the neck and jaw. I don't know now what's causing it.

Get your heart checked out, you could have angina!

You can have GI problems and heart problems at the same time, so don't rule it out.

Don't let a doctor just blow you off, get tested!
