Have had diarrhea off and on for six months. Haven't lost any weight so I pretty sure something is going on with my colon. Doctor put me on NexiumNexium Nexium i.v. (actually took the generic OTC, PrilosecPrilosec Prilosec otc). Am allergic to ProtonixProtonix Protonix iv and started getting hives while taking PrilosecPrilosec Prilosec otc so I stopped taking it. Helped a littleLittle noses decongestant Little tummys bit, but still had some diarrhea. Dr. thinks I have IBS but wanted me to try NexiumNexium Nexium i.v. product before going further. My question is, is there an acid pump inhibitor that acts differently than Nexium or Protonix given my allergic reactions that I could try? Also, my Dr. said that a visit to the GI doc and a colonoscopy would be next if the acid pump inhibitor didn't help. Any thoughts on what I should try? Thanks.
