is this ulcer? need help for my mom

I would really appreciate it if any of the doctors could help me. My mom is 49 yrs old. I think she mentioned she was diagnosed with Ulcer a long time ago. she doesn't know what kind because it was diagnosed many years ago she is not on any specific medications, it has been the kind of problem that comes and goes so she has been rather neglectful about it.basically she self medicates whenever she is in pain but I am very worried about her, she constantly complains about stomach pains, bloating and it gets really bad before her menstruation. what kind of test should she ask for? what kind of ulcer can it be? I am truly worried about her something must be wrong if she is constantly in pain and I am afraid it will spiral into something worse. please help.
