Hello and hope you are fine.
Passing small amounts of mucus in stools can be normal but mucus in large amount in stools can be a cause of concern. Bacterial infection of the intestine with Shigella, Campylobacter and Salmonella  can cause mucus and blood appearance in stools.Crohn’s disease can present at any age. If there is a family history Of Crohn’s disease it could be one rare possibility. Consult an Paediatrician.A clinical examination and work up like stool examination may be helpful. Do keep me posted.
Best of luck and regards!
