I got a cvs brand with the same ingredients as the really expensive one.
Can I take a probiotic on an empty stomach or will it not work as well?
I take Rainbow Light Women's One Multivitamin's with probiotics in them... I don't really seem to notice a big differance though. I've also tried some other ones with no luck. Also you could try taking a digestive enzyme, the one I take is also made my Rainbow light, see if that helps at all.
I would go ahead and try yours (what brand did you get?) and see how it makes you feel, who know's it could help right?
I've used PB8 for a number of years and wouldn't be without it. The count should be in the billions if you're going to use a probiotic. In some, there can be side-effects especially when you first start. It's kind of like the 'good' bacteria battling/handling the 'less than fabulous' bacteria in your GI tract and in some cases and it can result in gas production. But that should even out pretty quickly.
Not all probiotic products work for every individual. You may have to try more than one, but unless you're immunosuppressed or experiencing pancreatic issues there's no harm that can be found in using probiotics.
I've been taking a probiotic for a while now but I haven't really noticed any benefit from it. The number of bacteria doesn't really matter, it's more important that there are many different types of bacteria. I use Culturelle. There shouldn't be any side effects.
I saw my doc and he wanted to run tests. However my insurance doesn't start until january so I can't afford the tests right now. I'm just trying to manage my pain as much as possible until then.
I take a good one (20,000,000 live digestive bacteria) and absolutely love it. There are no side effects. I take mine for acid reflux. I ran out a few months ago, and went a few days without. I will NEVER do that again. They work very well.
If you are taking this for chronic issues, you should see your doctor to make sure that there isn't anything serious going on that needs more attention.
Take care.
