laryngeal neuropathy

by jts7, Apr 25, 2008 06:16AM
In November of 2006, I had a Nissen fundoplication to treat and, hopefully, cure laryngeal neuropathy that had been worsening since I underwent radiation for cancer in 1981.  This diagnosis was made by a very good doctor at Mass Eye and Ear  Clinic in Boston.  The fundoplication has made my condition steadily worse, and now my throat is constantly full of mucus, making it very difficult to swallow, talk, or drink.  I have seen more than fifteen doctors, none of whom have been able to offer any help.  One gave me an injection in my neck near the place where the mucus floods out.  This, too, made the condition worse.  Has anyone had a situation like this and, if so, what have you done about it?
