left shoulder pain

i have been reading about the stabbing left shoulder pain. i have had it and been on a quest for at least 3 yrs to find out what is causing it. i had a gastric bypass about 6ish yrs ago, with complications and eventually had a thoracotomy. i had a tummy tuck about 3 yrs. agol. now this is what i have done to no avail for the shoulder pain. carpal tunnel surg. gallbladder surg. bone spur surg. upper and lower gi test, chiropractor, massage. still have it. i am currently going to a pain clinic. on 20mac butrane patch, 75 mg nucynta. this eases during the day. but it is sleep time that is killing me. i take sleep meds but am up every 2 hrs. god awful pain. today i had acupuncture and the dr. mentioned the diaphagm and the weird nerve to the shoulder. anybody out there with gastric bypass surg having this. what test could i have to find out if it is that. have been mri'd head to toe but no one was looking for that. i too fell like i am alone in this and also fell like sometimes the drs think i am making it up. any help appr.
