I am a 26 yr old femaleCondoms Female condoms Female sexual dysfunction. Jan 2007 is when it all started. I found out I had pancreatitisAcute pancreatitis Chronic pancreatitis Pancreatitis Pancreatitis, acute - ct scan Pancreatitis, chronic - ct scan, they check my chol. level/normal. Iwas told that I proably got pancreatitisAcute pancreatitis Chronic pancreatitis Pancreatitis Pancreatitis, acute - ct scan Pancreatitis, chronic - ct scan from a virous. Then 2 wks later pain in the middle of my stomach started I thought I had pancreatitisAcute pancreatitis Chronic pancreatitis Pancreatitis Pancreatitis, acute - ct scan Pancreatitis, chronic - ct scan again but my lipaseLipase test count was normalNormal saline flush. The stomach pain went on for months. I had an ultasound/normal, CT scan/normal, EGD they found a little inflamation (inflammation)/reddness in my stomach/did a biopsy/normal but I was told I had a small hiatal henia (probably from the birth of my son) and treated me for acid reflux. The pain was so bad at times it felt like my stomach was rotting, this hot acid felling that was worse with some foods. I could only drink water, eat soup. jello, saltine crackers, and toast. I was given pain meds but it never got better. I tried nexium, protonics, and prilosec, so far zantac twice/day seems the best. this went on until Sept. When in Oct. I was diagn. w/ pancreatis again. I couldn't be leave it finally some end in sight. I had another CT Scan/normal, Ulrasound normal no gallblader trbl. I was sent to a GI spec. had another EGD/normal, MRCP/normal, a gallblader function test/suprise normal. He decided in Nov. that I should have a sphincterotomy. I thought finally I would be better, but I was still having the sevre stomach pain. I was sent to another doc to talk about having my gallbladder out because on one occ. my liver count was slightly elevated. So I thought way not, I'll go with the chances and have it removed in Dec 2007. Since the stomach pain has gotten better. I can now eat almost anything and not have sevre pain. So in some ways I feel I made the right decision. Now the past 2 months I've been having pain on my left lower side just below the ribs that feels like pressure that comes and goes, but is the worst when I lay down at night. I also have a pain in the middle of my stomach that comes at the end of my ovulation cycle (I think, I'm still trying to pin point that) it feels like someone just did an upper cut to my stomach, that usually happens when I'm sitting down and last for about 30min-1hr standing or lying down usually help. If anyone could give me and answer as to what this could be I would apprieciate it. I'm am tired of waiting
With new pain under your left rib, have you noticed any bowel changes? Constipation, bloating, or diarrhea? Also have you been on a heavy course of antibiotics lately?
I have noticed that my bowel movements are a little softer, but no blood or darkness in color. I was taking Metronidazole a wk ago for 2wks for a bacterial infection (which I still don't think is gone), before that I didn't notice any chgs. I also forgot to mention that for 3wks I've had pain in my left shoulder. Ithought I was just sleeping on it wrong or I may have pulled a muscle. I've been avoiding sleeping on that side but it doesn't seem to be going away. The pain can come when I moving it or doing nothing at all.
