left sind pain under rib cage extending to the back

I am a 29 yo active male in relitively good health. I was just diagnosed with a mild case of divirticulosis and have finished the antibiotic run of Cipro and Flagyl.
The last few days I have been experiencing a pain in my left side, under my bottom left rib cage and towards my back. I am taking donnatol, but that does not seem to help much for this. What could be the problem, I am also taking metamucil once a day?
I could be lactose intolerant, but I never had a problem before.
