life without a rectum

What have people done to alleviate the problems of "postsurgical bowel dysfunction" or "lower anterior resection syndrome" (frequent elimination in small quantities over several hours) ? Am particularly interested in those who have this condition as a result of the removal of the rectum due to low  rectal cancer. Thank you

Thank you for posting. My husband is going to have his reversal of his ileostomy in a few weeks. His rectum was removed and we had no idea what to expect.
Hello Karenfg, how did the surgery go for your husband?
