liver spots

liver spots

My father (73)had prostrate problems and a hernia.  He recently went for a cat scan to check his prostrate and although the prostrate is good , there is another hernia and the Dr. said he has spots on his liver.  The Dr. has recommended an MRI before the hernia surgery.  He siad he was "not worried" and that it could be blood vessels?  My father is a drinker and though he has never been diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver I was wondering if that could be a part of it and are these "spots" cancerous?

My husband has just been told that they saw liver spots on his CT scan.  We just went for an MRI and haven't got the results back yet.  The technologist that took the CT scan told the doctor that he thinks they are nothing.  But doctor still sent us for an MRI to make sure.  We haven't gotten the results back yet.  On December 11 my husband had a colonoscopy and they found colorectal cancer.  It was all removed and he had an endorectal sonogram and it was negative for cancer.  But now we are worried about these spots.  Good luck to you and we hope we have good luck.
