lower back pain, pelvic cramps, rectal bleeding

I just turned 35 and I've been having rectal bleeding for the past two months.  It usually occurs only when I'm straining with a bowel movement.  I've been having pain in my lower pack which sometimes radiates to my upper left shoulder.  At the same time, I've been having really bad lower pelvic cramps which sometimes radiate to my upper left breast.  Should I see a regular doctor or a gastroenterologist??  At first, I could have sworn it was vaginal bleeding, but my gynecologist says that she saw blood in my rectum area and she suspects hemhorroids.  She gave me zypram(?) for the hemorrhoids (which I'm guilty of not yet using!).   I'm still confused as to where the blood is coming from since there's a lot of it.  I keep thinking I have endometriosis or colon cancer or ectopic pregnancy or diverticulitis.  I'm hoping this is easy to diagnose.  I'm too scared to see a doctor, but I know I need to go very soon.  Suggestions on what this could be?

i had the exact same problem and im only 17... I went and seen a gastoenterologist and they did a colonoscopy and gastroscopy, turns out i had stomach ulcers which was easily treated with medication, i had no issues after that unitl  i stopped taking them a year ago now as they were gone and i still have the symptoms, they think it may be endometriosis but wil not test until ready to have a baby

Do seek medical advice since rectal bleeding is never normal.  Don't delay - if only because you are on the young side to have the more sinister diseases associated with rectal bleeding and it will surely be neneficial if your main source fo worry can be neutralised.  Tyoe rectal bleeding into google and click on one of the many sites that describe rectal bleeding - the Medicinenet site is particularly informative.

Thanks all!  I think I am going to copy this thread to the gynecology section.  I am bloated and think the bright red blood is actually vaginal and not rectal.  =(  I'm still too scared to talk with the doctors and I'm actually irritated with my gynecologist, but will have my fiancee make the appointment for me...since I seem to not be able to do it on my own.
