lower left abdominal pain and left hip numbness

one month ago, i went to ER with intense lower left abdominal and back pain. it felt like either my ovary or kidney had burst. I nearly fainted due to pain.  No fever, or diarrhea.  CT scan showed diverticulosis without diverticulitis, some enlarged mesenteric nodes in the abdomen, thought to be unremarkable.  Ovary ultrasound, unremarkable.  MRI of spine, 3 days later, showed bulging disc,but by then the pain had resolved itself, only to be substituted with numbness in left hip, right at the joint, and swelling from bellybutton to hip, on left side (like love handles).  Gyn. exam showed ovaries and uterus soft and normal in size, although PAP showed some irregularity.  I was put on pain meds and antibiotics for diverticulitis and am having no digestive symptoms, only numbness, the swelling and occasional sensitivity (not intense) on lower left back.
